We are excited to welcome Austin Padilla back to the eVideon team as a Senior Software Developer on our Technology team! Austin is returning to eVideon after spending seven years with Gordon Food Service (GFS) where he was a Full-stack Developer. Austin and his family reside in Grand Rapids, Michigan and he holds a Computer Science degree from Grand Valley State University.

We sat down with Austin to learn more about his background and hobbies, and, in true eVideon fashion… whether he favors coffee or tea!

Q. Tell us a little about yourself

Outside of work, I enjoy cooking for friends and family. When the weather is nice, I try to get out on the motorcycle.

Q. What made you decide you wanted a career in software development?  

I’ve always loved solving puzzles and after really discovering what coding was in college, I just took to it!

Q. You have a unique perspective of having worked at eVideon previously (and we’re thrilled to have you back) – what excites you about re-joining the eVideon team?

I’m thrilled to be back on a team where I can make a huge impact for both the company as well as the end users. During my last time with the company, I had a really tight working relationship with my co-workers and I’m looking forward to building those again.

Q. What can you be found doing when you’re not in the office?

I have two young kids - a 3 year old and a 1 year old - so trying to find a quiet spot to hide!

Q. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up? How has that changed or stayed the same?

I always wanted to go to the moon. Maybe Elon will help make that happen someday.

Q. What’s your favorite food?

Tacos - steak with cilantro and white onions.

Q. Where is the one place you’d like to visit?

I was planning a trip to Taiwan, but COVID-19 has postponed those plans for now.

Q. Are you a coffee or tea drinker? Do you have a favorite place to enjoy a cup?

An americano is my morning drink of choice!
