We're excited to welcome Erin Pangallo, MS, BSN, RN, to the Vibe Health team as our Clinical Implementation Director where she will serve as a trusted resource and advisor to our hospital and health system clients.
Erin is a master's prepared registered nurse who received her BSN from the University of Indianapolis and an MS in Health Administration from DePaul University. Erin has been in healthcare for the last 25+ years, having served as both nurse and leader in Critical Care, Telemetry, Cardiac Cath Lab, Emergency Services, Service Excellence, and Magnet® Program Director. Erin joins us from Press Ganey Associates, LLC where she led the integrated client improvement strategy for some of the country’s largest and most strategic health systems. She is passionate about creating and maintaining teams that allow the strength of an individual to enhance the team, and in this post-pandemic era, Erin is excited for the future of patient facing technology and the opportunities ahead for healthcare.
We sat down with Erin to learn more about her background and hobbies, and, in keeping with our tradition... learning whether she favors coffee or tea!
Q. Tell us a little about yourself:
I am originally from Indianapolis, Indiana. I have lived in Huntley, Illinois for the last 24 years with my husband of 24 years, Joe. We are blessed to have 3 teenage boys – ages 17, 15, and 14 – and we have a 4-year-old Portuguese water dog named Khaleesi.
I have been a registered nurse for the last 25 years and the majority of my career has been focused in Cardiovascular Critical Care and Emergency Services, as a bedside nurse and Nurse Executive. Prior to my most recent role, I served as the Director of Service Excellence and Magnet Program Director for our 3rddesignation. I have spent the last 6years working with some of the largest health systems in the nation to focus on safety, quality, and patient experience
Q. Given your clinical background, and extensive expertise in patient experience and high reliability, what opportunities do you feel exist for today's healthcare leaders when it comes to digital transformation?
We have an opportunity, as healthcare leaders to take an inventory of current practice to determine where there is risk due to human error and inefficiencies that take nurses and care team members away from caring for the human souls. We must focus on creating digital platforms that reduce redundant work like transcribing to communication boards. We must put ourselves in the shoes of our patients and providers to innovate for the future.
Q. What excites you about joining the Vibe Health team at eVideon?
There are so many reasons! The Vibe Health platform is such a multi-faceted solution in the areas of safety, quality, and experience of care. I am excited to join the team and be a part of an organization that is changing the paradigm of care delivery. We have the potential to reduce the workload of nurses by allowing patients direct contact with the right member of the care team to meet their needs, whether that is EVS, Dietary Services, Engineering, or Spiritual care.
Q. What can you be found doing when you’re not in the office?
I am usually found at my sons’ sporting events either football, or basketball. In the off-season you will find us on the lake!
Q. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up? How has that changed or stayed the same?
When I was little, I wanted to be an actress, Radio City Rockette, or nurse! Well, I am a nurse, and I use my acting skills daily as a mom 😊, and sadly kick-lines are not always welcome at a family wedding!
Q. What’s your favorite food?
I love Lasagna!
Q. Where is the one place you’d like to visit?
Greece, where my grandmother was from.
Q. Are you a coffee or tea drinker? Do you have a favorite place to enjoy a cup?
I am a 1 cup of coffee in the morning and 1 cup of tea in the afternoon! Favorite place to drink both is in my cozy living room in the winter and on the deck in the summer.
