We are excited to welcome Joe Rajan to the eVideon team as a dedicated Partner Success Manager supporting our clients at the VA Hospital in Long Beach! Joe is joining us from SCAN Health Plan where he was a Quality Assurance Analyst. Joe is a Los Angeles native, born and raised in Bellflower, California, and a recent graduate of Cal State University Long Beach where he earned his Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration.

We sat down with Joe to learn more about his background and hobbies, and, in true eVideon fashion… whether he favors coffee or tea!

Q. Tell us a little about yourself

I’m a big fan of sports, both watching and playing them! In my free time I like to stay active and play lots of pickup basketball, volleyball, and every Monday night my roommates and I train boxing.

Q. What made you decide you wanted a career in the healthcare industry?

Honestly, I was very fortunate. After graduating with my biology degree, I knew that I didn’t want to work in a lab pipetting all day, but I also didn’t want to go down the med-school route and be in school forever. I found Healthcare Administration as an awesome alternative where you can still help people but also learn and engage with the more interesting aspects of healthcare business and data technology.

Q. What excites you about joining the eVideon team?

Serving veterans at the VA Long Beach. It is something that I have always dreamed of doing and am glad that I am going to be able to. I am also excited to have a change of pace, for the last two years most of my work did not allow me to engage with people—at eVideon, the work feels exciting!

Q. What can you be found doing when you’re not in the office?

Working out, playing sports, hanging with friends or at my mom’s house.

Q. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up? How has that changed or stayed the same?

An apartment manager (I know it sounds funny). Growing up I was always attracted to games where you managed relationships and resources, I must’ve thought that’s what apartment managers did. Something that hasn’t changed however, is my desire to work in business.

Q. What’s your favorite food?

I can always eat Mexican food, but Indian food might be my favorite (my parents are South Indian, the food is great but it’s very spicy).

Q. Where is the one place you’d like to visit?

Hawaii

Q. Are you a coffee or tea drinker? Do you have a favorite place to enjoy a cup?

Primarily Coffee but also Chai. My favorite local coffee spot is called Solid.
