Grand Rapids, MI (May 3, 2016) — eVideon (www.evideon.com) announces that its Interactive Patient Experience Platform will be going live at the newly constructed Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital when the hospital opens to patients this month. The selection of eVideon was made after a competitive review process that included multiple global technology providers.

With over 3,900 trauma patients treated annually, Zuckerberg San Francisco General is known as the city’s busiest emergency room and the only Level One trauma center for the 1.5 million residents of San Francisco and northern San Mateo County.

In addition to leveraging the latest technology to improve patient care, the newly constructed nine-story, acute care hospital was built to meet strict seismic standards. The new hospital is designed to provide a warm, healing environment that features natural light, private patient rooms and a garden on the roof.

Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital will use eVideon throughout its facility to provide patients with a personalized experience. eVideon is an interactive system that’s accessed from a television at the patient’s bedside. eVideon’s platform delivers customized health education, television programming, movies on demand, hospital information, patient surveys and more.

“eVideon’s technology platform fits Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital’s needs perfectly,” said Scott King, eVideon’s Chief Technology Officer. "The platform is very easy for the nursing staff to use. It provides a personalized experience for each patient, while streamlining the assignment, delivery and documentation of educational content for clinical staff."

After a patient views their assigned video education, eVideon will automatically document into their Electronic Medical Record (EMR), which streamlines workflows for clinical staff.

The system also allows Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital to customize it further based on their needs. For example, the hospital is adding its patient booklet on eVideon’s television platform to eliminate printing it in four languages (English, Spanish, Chinese and Tagalog), which will equate to a significant cost savings and provide patients with standardized information.

“We’re excited about the eVideon system because it is so personalized, and will enable us to gather valuable feedback from our patient community through surveys about their experience,” said Chief Care Experience Officer Aiyana Johnson. “For example, eVideon allows us to proactively measure quality and satisfaction initiatives, such as room cleanliness, communication with clinical staff and overall patient satisfaction.”

The hospital was recently named the Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center in recognition of a transformative gift from Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and wife, Dr. Priscilla Chan, used to obtain critical equipment and technology.
